Its exceptional aerodynamic performance and upgraded interior have given the GT-R a more mature character
Nissan unveiled a redesigned version of its fastest most powerful and most exclusive model, the Nissan GT-R, yesterday at the New York Auto Show. Known unofficially as Godzilla, the Nissan GT-R is one of the most desirable cars on the road today, and now it just got more powerful.
More Powerful than Ever
The 2017 Nissan GT-R still gets the 3.8-liter biturbo V6 engine but the power has increased by 20 hp and now sits at 565 horsepower. Torque is rated at 467 lb-ft. Visually, the 2017 GT-R gets more aggressive thanks to a sculpted hood, revised aerodynamics, new color choices and a host of other improvements.
Nissan claims to have improved the suspension of the new GT-R to make it handle even better on a track, but also to make it more comfortable on the road. The Japanese automaker wants to position the GT-R as a vehicle that is both compliant on the way to work and a monster on the track.
Nissan's Best Yet
"As the icon of Nissan's driving performance, the GT-R continues to evolve. With the signature V-motion grille, the GT-R now possesses the latest Nissan design language. Its exceptional aerodynamic performance and upgraded interior have given the GT-R a more mature character, which will continue into the future," said Mamoru Aoki, executive design director, Global Design Center, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
